*chuckles* comes with the whole fact that it's like they're a part of us. They portray it so much like a real show or something. Besides this anime isn't like other cartoons b/c it actually focuses on problems like family, relationships, stuff like that.

Three things, firstly. *chuckles* comes with the whole fact that it's like they're a part of us. They portray it so much like a real show or something. Besides this anime isn't like other cartoons b/c it actually focuses on problems like family, relationships, stuff like that. Yeah, there's no doubt to the realism to this show. Yet cartoons have always stiven to caricture life one way or another. Actually this statement made me think of something and I'm tempted to see if it's on youtube. Not sure what to type in to the bar though. Secondly, Ken and Miyako are cute I guess but I've never seen anything interesting done with it and it doesn't really inspire me. Thirdly, Wellcome Timmy.

not all cartoons do I mean there are some that are silly for the sake of silliness and some just teach kids things with no point whatsoever to the actual show(WonderPets come to mind since my lil sis is 1)

Actually, my thoughts were of the Looney Tunes or Tom andJerry that are constantly critirised as 'just violence' when actually their humour could be quiet sophicated when it wanted to be.
Though now you mention it, I would point towards Team Rocket (or to an extent May) who have the strongest back stories in the show or to Paul (Ash's current rival) who makes a serious case for cruety to pokemon (for now. Most reckon he'll have a face turn heal in the league) or even to hunter J who actually died in the show (and tried to kill Ash). Of course this is more prominant in the Japanese version.
Great you've got me thinking about this now.
