A useful challenge

Here's a challenge that I set myself and have found sort of useful.

If you haven't already, figure out whatever your favourite pairing is.

Then write a fanfic focusing on the characters in that pairing yet without them being together at any point or hints of will they or wont they.

This challenge helped me to see the two characters as two well developed characters in thier own right but may have different effects for you.
