Ok for some reason this is another character I find hard to write so maybe our lovely members can assist me reasons I dislike him:
1. He commited a crime and everyone still forgave him.
2. He is selfish and only thinks of himself because he was willing to kill himself in one of the episodes when Paildramon first appeared he didnt even think of his parents.
3. It took his digimon dying to see the error of his ways I mean what did poor Wormmon do to recieve such punishment? He was always so loyal and he got nothing from Ken.
Okay feel free to give me pros.

I think I put my word in for 1 and 3 back at Digimania. But since this is a new place, It's a fairly common theme in anime/games/comics/TV/movies, beating someone turns them from enemy to friend. Daisuke was convinced that the real Ken isn't the Kaiser. After all, they had the "don't hurt the digimon!! Destroy the dark towers and the digimon will be good again" thing going at the start, so finally defeating the Kaiser meant Ken was now freed. At least that's how I take things. |

Also remember something, the dub can change a lot of things. The US dub did it.
I don't even remember Ken wanting to kill himself during the Paildramon episode, he was more like wanting to go alone into the base because he felt it was responsability and didn't wanted the others to risk themselves, that's why Davis slapped him, because he had to make him snap back to reality and make him see that they want to help, that now they're on the same side. ^^
He may commited a crime but it wasn't because he wanted, he got brainwashed, it was like with Gatomon, she got brainwashed in being evil, luckily she didn't went too far as in killing, she only recruited digimon for Myotismon.

yeah in dub Ken said he dont want to live anymore because he should pay for things he did and that noone will miss him but his parents still love him and Wormmon said he wanted to die if Ken died man Wormmon is very loyal too bad people like that dont exist huh? He want to die with Ken if Ken dies in dub thats what it was.

of course, if you're taking dub universe for your fic then it makes sense to use dub-based characterization no?

I tend to use a combo makes it easier for me to get a view of the characters
