Yes i know this isnt a very popular pairing but i believe all love begins from friendship and a good friendship leads to a good romance relationship as i believe it makes it stronger yes patamon and gatomon are friends so are veemon and gatomon but notice this gatomon really only interacts with patamon twice in 02 and hardly in 01 except when she asks his help in battle which is because of the whole holy angels thing angemon and angewomon shooting arrows of hope and light on their loves ones which was tai, matt, agumon and gabumon respectively and with veemon while they interact as good friends gatomon never got to know of veemon's crush on her so i think this pairing was poorly developed. Now to hawkmon and gatomon ever since they DNA digivolve together and kari becomes closer friend of yolei they stick together ever so often spending most of their time together getting along great and gatomon can always trust hawkmon to help her which is why she asks him for help with ladydevimon she doesnt asks patamon or veemon which suggests that by this stage she has become closer to hawkmon of course it is only friendship showing between them but me in my fics enjoy taking that friendship to the next level.

So true, but well about asking Hawkmon for help we also have to take in count that since she and the other digimon gave Imperialdramon their energy (when Imperialdramon got shutdown by SkullSatamon) none of the 01 digimon (including Gato and Pata) digivolved to their ultimate forms again till the battle with MaloMyotismon, I think it was due to the power of the digicore wearing off on them or something, the thing is that Gatomon said that she didn't had energy to fight LadyDevimon on her own, so the only approach she had was the dna digivolution.

Now I'm not countering your post, you have very good points, actually I can't even tell the level of friendship of Gatomon and Veemon due to them not interacting much, I mean, with Patamon at least she had some out of battle interaction, I mean it wasn't exclusive mission interaction, while with Veemon always were mission related things and only crossed words with him 3 times.

I do agree that the dna got Gatomon and Hawkmon closer, though I didn't saw them talking much neither, but I do remember how, she, Kari, Yolei and Hawkmon were laughing after Yolei got all in advertisment mode advertising a drink she brought with her and that is sold on her parents' store, the other thing was how Kari and Yolei offer to cook on Digitamamon and Tapirmon's restaurant (Digitamamon and Tapirmon weren't there since they ran off scared or something, don't remember well why they weren't on the restaurant) and Gatomon and Hawkmon got all happy about cooking.

So at least there was something with them, not really much but more than what poor Veemon got ^^U

Nothing against Veemon, just pointing how ironic was that even Hawkmon got a bit more of interaction with Gatomon. ^^

Now here comes the hard part. How to work the friendship towards love on pairings with little interaction and/or no evidence. That is where we find the flaws in fics, either rushing it to get to the romance fast or making the girl falling for the guy because he saved her (very typical this one) among other flaws.

in the past days I had been roleplaying with Daikari Princess and even though I'm Takari fan I have managed to play as Davis with Kari being his girlfriend. It had helped me to work with Davis and understand him more ^^

Yeah but notice after Sylphimon came into existence Gatomon dont even hang around patamon much either and she didnt hang around before Im just saying hawkmon and gatomon also enjoy each other's company in my opinion it is just as likely as patagato just like daikari is equally likely as takari. but we could use in a fic like i am using in mine after the battle of malomyotismon before the epilogue though the digimon go back to the digital world and the gates close again im showing gatomon to be missing kari and hawkmon comforts her cause he misses yolei too and tries to cheer her up by telling her maybe one day they'll become sylphimon again etc again i am not denying PataGato just saying HawkGato is just as likely as they have a close friendship as well.

I know though I think Gatomon balanced herself hanging out with both Pata and Hawk, is just I remember when they were at TK's house talking about the kidnapped kids (the ones who got dark spores on them after Oikawa cloned Ken's spore), and while Hawkmon, Wormmon, Veemon and Armadillomon were on the bed, Patamon and Gatomon were on the floor besides each other, that's why I think Gatomon more than hang out more with Hawky after the dna, she just balanced her time with both as to not make Patamon feel neglected.

It is just a theory though but you have to admit it would make better sense than to say she doesn't hangs much with Patamon, this mostly because TK and Kari didn't stopped being close friends ^^

yeah thats why i said they are equally likely but after the dna digivolution of Sylphimon even TK didnt spent much time with kari he spent more time with cody while davis, ken, kari and yolei spend more time with one another thus Hawkmon and Gatomon becoming closer friends heck HawkGato is more likely than VeeGato I think HawkGato reminds me a lot of WizaGato you know the noble, friendly generous digimon being with Gatomon I was a big fan of WizaGato but he died so that will never happen

Well Patamon also has things in common with Wizardmon, he is also noble, and much like Wizardmon he sacrificed himself for the ones he cares about, so let's keep it in a tie between HawkGato and PataGato, in that way no one loses XD

I probably still wouldnt be able to read any PataGato besides Gatomon's baby LP because as much as hope/light and angels/angels sound kawaii im not a big fan of destiny I just like HawkGato cause of their strong bonding of friendship even though a bird and an angel dont match but they interact well Hawkmon and Gatomon I mean.

I understand, but maybe that is what makes my fics different, the fact that I don't use the angels nor the crests nor any destiny related things ^^

Still there are other really good PataGato fics, my personal favorite is one fic on ff.net called Challenge of Fatherhood by Foxzet, the main part was about Patamon raising his and Gatomon's daughter on his own because Gatomon died when she gave birth to their baby, but after that is settled and Gatomon returns the fic is new situation after new situation. Foxzet has a really big inspiration since the fic almost reaches 100 chapters and has 223 reviews. It has to be one of the best PataGato fics out there along with mine (Sorry the lack of modesty XD)

So yeah there are other really good PataGato fics out there ^^

yeah but I dunno I like more the not so loved pairings I mean Im probably the only HawkGato fan here and on fanfiction.net but meh there is nothing wrong with being unique besides Hawkmon is sweet and him and Gatomon are good friends dont worry about lack of modesty if you wrote a good fic you should be proud but if it makes you happy on my fic which you have read I put Patamon with Biyomon so he wont be left out after all he's the most loyal guardian angel on all of the earth and yeah but Hawkmon is a really good friend too you cant deny

But really I'm sure you would enjoy that fic I mentioned as much as you enjoyed my fic since even though it is PataGato it has much more than that since a lot of the chapters are focused on their daugher on different situations ^^

But is up to you if you want to read it, though you have to admit that it must be a really good one considering it has 223 reviews, it is the PataGato fic with more chapters and reviews on ff.net

though my fic reached above 110 reviews with mere 4 chapters, that sure was quite fast o.o

fics usually are popular i also liked rebuilding a broken heart except you left hawkmon alone on it so I dont feel like reading I mean what Hawkmon did not to deserve love yes i know and understand patamon is with gatomon. but look at it in that gabumon is with biyomon, agumon with palmon, and hawkmon with nobody you could even put veemon with wormmon and hawkmon still doesnt have no one.

hey wait, don't rush things my dear, Rebuilding a Broken Heart isn't even complete yet, I mean look at Gatomon's Baby, Hawkmon and Biyomon didn't got together till chapter 6 so don't jump in conclusions on Rebuilding a Broken Heart, I'm still planning many surprises and twists for it ^^

so will hawkmon get a girlfriend? Please give him a girlfriend after all he risked his neck a lot of times too maybe get him a Salamon or Mikemon as his girlfriend those are good choices at least on my count
